Hello Lovelies!
As you know, the ends of the hair are the oldest part of the hair because they’ve simply been on our head the longest. So it’s essential that we protect the ends of our hair and treat them gently at all times if we want to retain length and grow longer hair. The ends are most vulnerable to damage and prone to drying out when the hair is at it’s weakest, which is when it’s wet. To protect the ends and keep them from drying out as I wash my hair, I always apply a mixture of my favorite hair oil (usually olive or avocado oil) with a thick conditioner to the ends of my hair. I aim for a 70/30 ratio of conditioner to oil, then I mix it up and saturate the ends of my hair prior to cleansing my scalp. This not only keeps my ends from drying out on wash day, but it also makes detangling my hair easier since the ends of the hair tend to be the most susceptible to tangles.
