Many curly haired gals shampoo and cleanse their hair on an infrequent basis in an effort to prevent dryness and frizz. However, I find that more frequent cleansing sessions aren’t necessarily a bad thing for type 3 hair, but finding the right cleanser that will help your hair retain moisture and not dry it out is key. There is no reason to completely forego shampoos if your hair is curly because cleansing the hair with shampoo is a very important step to getting curly hair to style and look the way you desire. Below you’ll find my top 5 favorite cleansers and shampoos for curly, type 3 hair that’ll help your beautiful curls maintain optimal moisture levels and keep excess frizz and build-up at bay.
